The BRAZILIAN POLITICAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION (ABCP) is a scientific association, which gathers professionals and graduate students in the field. It aims at promoting the exchange of ideas, the debate of problems, a high level of professional ethics, and the defense of shared interests in the field of Political Science. Today, it counts with 367 members.
Created in 1986, and re-activated in 1996, the ABCP organizes its National Congress every two years. It has also promoted and participated in a variety of scientific events regularly. It is directed by an Executive Committee, which is elected by its members in Assemblies that take place at the end of each National Congress. Its activities are based and structured by three Committees and six Research Fields.
From the institutional perspective, the ABCP is affiliated to the International Political Science Association - IPSA (http://www.ipsa.ca). The ABCP holds a seat on IPSA’s Consulting Committee, which elected the ABCP’s current representative, Ms. Lourdes Sola, to head the Executive Committee.
